Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Digital Nomad Visa the same as the E33G visa?

Yes. While the public calls it the Digital Nomad Visa, the official legal designation used by immigration is the E33G Remote Worker Visa.Yes. While the public calls it the Digital Nomad Visa, the official legal designation used by immigration is the E33G Remote Worker Visa.

Can I apply for this visa if I am already in Bali?

Yes, if you hold a valid C1 (Visit Visa), we can assist with the onshore transition. However, most applicants find the offshore process faster and more predictable.

Do I have to pay tax in Indonesia on my global income?

Generally, if you stay more than 183 days, you become a tax resident. However, the E33G is designed so that income earned from foreign employers is usually exempt, but we recommend our professional tax consultation for your specific case.

Can I bring my spouse and children with me?

Absolutely. We can process “Family Union” KITAS applications for your legal dependents simultaneously with your primary application.

What happens after the one-year period ends?

The E33G is currently renewable for an additional year. After two years, we can assist you in transitioning to an Investor KITAS if you plan to start a local business.

Do I need a local sponsor or company to apply?

No. Unlike a Working KITAS, the E33G does not require an Indonesian company sponsor; your foreign employment contract serves as the basis for your stay.

Can I work from a coworking space in Bali on this visa?

Yes, using coworking spaces and cafes for remote work is perfectly legal and encouraged under the Digital Nomad Visa status.
